Adam started writing in the spring of 2024 to help his wife with her medical circumstances. Mindy was staring down the barrel of several scary possible syndromes and fighting for her life to get care. The symptoms were present, frightening, and miserable, yet getting a diagnosis always seemed just out of reach. With bills piling up and Mindy's ability to work being diminished, the family's income was instantly cut in half.

Searching for any means of extra income, Adam started writing every day, every night, anywhere and everywhere, in the car, in the bathroom, while grocery shopping, and even at work. Mindy is the love of Adam's life and his muse. He would do anything for her. Writing has been therapeutic and great for both of them, as it has provided many interesting conversations and possibly a way to remedy their medical struggles.

Why horror? Why scary and thrilling stories? Mindy asked, "Why can't you write something nice?" Adam's answer: "Where I grew up, every day on the way home from school you were either in a fight or watching one: beatings, blood, bruises, stabbings. You learned to look over your shoulder and learned what to watch for. You learned when to stand your ground, and you learned when to run. That was life from the beginning. By 8 or 9 years old we were watching movies like The Exorcist, The Omen, Carrie, and Cujo at whichever house that the parents weren't home. We weren't bad kids, but it was a rough neighborhood. So those kinds of thrills and chills were fun for us. The neighborhood didn't look bad. You wouldn't know it to look at it, but the wrong side of the tracks is like that. If you've lived it... let me put it this way: when you know, you know."

Other life experiences, such as living in a few different states and having a couple dozen different jobs, have proved to be invaluable assets as a writer. Over their years together, Adam and Mindy have lived in Ohio, Tennessee, and Florida. Early on, Adam made money mowing lawns and shoveling snow when he wasn't playing football, basketball, or track. He started making money shooting action sports pictures for the local paper at 12 years old. He bagged groceries, worked construction, taught guitar lessons, worked in a seafood kitchen, worked in a clothing store, sorted packages at UPS, sold and installed appliances, sold and delivered furniture, drove a council on aging bus, worked with the developmentally disabled, played in bands, shot wedding pictures and video, and shot action sports photography of everything from peewee sports to high school to college to pro (including working in the dugout next to Pete Rose). He's worked as a hotel housekeeper, sold tile, custom-designed kitchen cabinets, worked in fast food, sold cellphones, delivered pizzas, and bounced at a bar. He spent about two years as a professional musician, playing in 5 bands. Adam is an audio engineer. He writes songs, sings, and plays guitar, bass, piano, harmonica, sax, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and some drums. At one time he was pretty serious about weightlifting. He was majoring in dietetics and chemistry. This incredible cacophony of life experiences has been a great bank of knowledge to draw on for his writing.

Adam expounded, "Scary stories, horror, thrillers, and suspense—these are what come naturally. I suppose one day I might try my hand at writing something else, maybe. We'll see. But for now, expect thrills and chills. Expect to be shocked. Expect the unexpected."

Committed to providing a spine-tingling literary atmosphere, Adam aims to connect with horror enthusiasts and create unforgettable experiences through his carefully crafted stories. Join him on a journey filled with suspense, horror, and the thrill of fear.

Current & Upcoming Books

Pocket Full of Spiders is a book in the Wickerface series. It is the backstory of Lester Mulberry. His world is dark. His pain is real. He's desperately trying to navigate his dystopian existence. Mary, his sister, is the only light in his life. When her world comes crashing down, he does something; something unimaginable... something wicked. We can only outrun our demons for so long. As for Lester Mulberry, in the end, he's done running. And then, bad things happen to bad people.

Wickerface - Whitaker Ranch follows directly after Pocket Full of Spiders. It takes place in 1988 and follows the brutal slayings of Lakeside High. Lester and his friends find themselves in the midst of a town being plagued by two serial killers. One of them seems to be hunting the teens. Within the pages there are love interests, parties, good cops, bad cops, and bullies. It's horror, suspense, a murder mystery, a love story, and a thriller all rolled up into one rollercoaster of a slasher story. The townspeople are on edge. Nobody knows who it is or why. Nobody knows who's next. This story is very violent.

Coming Soon: Wicked Brew - A series of short stories of horror, thrills, and intrigue.

Wickerface - Whitaker Ranch

Promotional Video

This is the first ad I made for Whitaker Ranch. I wanted it to be creepy and scary, something that might draw the interest of people who like slasher flicks like Scream, Halloween, or Friday the 13th.

Wickerface - Pocket Full of Spiders

Promotional Video

For this ad I wanted to showcase a bit of the story elements. I think it worked out pretty well. Mindy helped a lot with this video. Most of the artwork in this one are things of which she conceived.

Wickerface - Whitaker Ranch

Promotional Video

We worked really hard to get a good image of Wickerface on the horse, Midnight. This worked out really well. I love the graveyard. It's perfect since it sits right beside Lester's house.
